Top Gun Jacket Patches Meaning: Symbols, Military History, and Controversies Explained

Flight-jacket patches are more than decoration. They mark a unit, a nickname, a mission, or a joke the squadron shared.

The familiar Top Gun patches borrow that military patch language: call signs, aircraft, and squadron marks. Some designs are fan tributes, and some echo real insignia.

If you are making your own, keep official seals and active unit marks out of the design unless you have permission to use them.
